You came to me at quite the crawl
Timid; apprehensive-problems tall,
You sat for a while-looking around
Waiting for me to break new ground.
Standing up took some strength
Baby steps-took great length.
You babbled and dabbled and finally spoke
At such a low pitch, you needed a poke.
With your bottles now drank
Your tummy full,
You want to engage me
In some push and pull.
I assure you I’m here
And will always be,
I’m wading……………
Just swim to me.
You’re stronger now
Than ever before,
Come-swim with me
We’ll rest on shore.
You doubted you could
You know now you can,
Something good awaits
It’s not an end.
