So many times I would pray to God for piece of mind
It seemed to be an ecstasy, I thought I’d never find,
A drink I was so thirsty for
My throat began to swell
I never thought I’d quench that thirst
Until one day, I stumbled and fell.
I ended up
In a freshwater stream,
Like an oasis in a desert;
My prayers redeemed.
Now I’m comfortable in your waters
And I’ve quenched that dreadful thirst,
I don’t care that you may drown me
As long as you embrace me first.
You are that oasis
And if perhaps one day,
You dry and leave me thirsty
I’ll remember…
You quenched my thirst one day.
