We so wish that you were here,
And that your life of twenty years
Could magically appear.
I imagine you’re as beautiful
As you were when you would lie,
While I would stroke your forehead
Softly humming a lullaby.
I bet that you are growing
There, as you would here,
I bet you look like Matt
As before, but on in years.
You both would be in college now
Sharing notes and books and things,
Supporting one another
Through all that life would bring.
